11th Annual Juried Student Art Exhibit – Awards Reception

The Passaic County Community College (PCCC) 11th Annual Juried Student Art Exhibit runs from April 8 to May 23 at the Broadway Gallery on the Main Campus in Paterson. The exhibition is also online at pccc.edu/artshow2024   This year’s exhibit showcases the work of over 35 student artists and features more than 80 diverse works including  paintings, drawings, digital art, photography, and other mediums.

The Awards Reception will be held in-person only  on Thursday, April 18 from  5:00  to 7:00 pm at the Broadway Gallery where visitors may view all the artworks and  be present when the prizewinning artworks are announced in five categories:
Best of Show, First, Second, and Third Place, and Honorable Mention.

The sixth prize category is The People’s Choice Award. Visitors to either the in-person or virtual exhibit are invited to cast a vote for their favorite artwork. Voting is now open and continues until Sunday, April 21 at 11:59 pm.  The winner of the People’s Choice Award will be announced on the College website and social media platforms on Wednesday, April 24.
All are welcome to vote.

This exhibition was curated and hung by faculty instructors Jill Sluka (Graphic Design) and  Azadeh Amiri (Studio Arts).
Judges  are Kella MacPhee, a photographer and photojournalist – and Javier A. Rabelo, dean of Mathematics and Technology at PCCC and a former photography instructor.

Admission to the exhibition and the reception is free and open to the public. Entrance to the Broadway Gallery is at Broadway and Memorial Drive in downtown Paterson.  Gallery hours are 9:00 am – 9:00 pm, Monday to Friday and 9:00 am 5:00 pm on Saturday.

This year’s Juried Student Art Exhibition is sponsored by the Passaic County Community College Cultural Affairs Department  and supported by Blick Art Materials.
